Christian Boltanski

April 18, 2010By Pablo Gonzalez-TrejoArtists, Blogt, burrito, photos 1 Comment

See some Christian Boltanski’s pictures in Monumenta 2010. I liked this odd exhibition but like always… so far, so close. January 1st, 2010, my soon to be family in law had breakfast with Christian Boltanski and Annette Messager. These are artists that I will love to meet … but no luck. I’ll tell you the story. My future parents in law run a beautiful bed & breakfast (La Maison du Cordon) in a small town in Burgundy (Aignay-le-Duc) where a very important french artist lives (Bertand Lavier) … so far this reads like an art fairy tale and you will tell me it is not possible… but yes, they came to spend new year’s eve with Lavier and so they slept in my parents in law’s B&B. I think next New Year’s eve I will spend it in Burgundy … just in case.

Where is Cuba?

September 18, 2007By Pablo Gonzalez-TrejoBlogt, burrito No Comments

Recently I had an adventure in India for a month… everyone wanted our money one way or another… there was no space for meeting people and having friendships, other than meeting people with the prospect of us paying something… that is a bit familiar to my 10 years in Miami… so that was not shocking… what was surprising was that no one person knows where Cuba is… or what a cuban cigar is or Cuban rum… and even less Cuban music… so voila… I always thought my country was known accross the world for its contributions to this planet but not… Not many people know where Cuba is in India… you also need to know that many people in India know barely how to read… so it is understandable but curios anyways that Cuba does not exist in this country…

Wet at Rubell Collection in the Phidon Book Store

Yesterday I went to the Rubell collection here in Miami to see the current show called Red Eye-L.A. Artists and was happily surprised when I saw the catalog Wet produced by Charo Oquet with one of my paintings on the cover right by the check out machine. The show was like always humbling for someone in my position.
